Honking

In town we lived closed to the flightpath for planes landing at Hector Airport. They were still quite high when they passed over our place, but they were nevertheless a sound that made you city aware.

This morning we were awakened fairly early as a flock of loud, honking geese flew overhead on their flightpath to warmer climates. I smiled and went back to sleep.

No move back to the city

This is as good a starting point as any I would presume. This is the time I would normally give up weekday commuting from our summer residence at The Lakes (yes, it will always be used as a proper noun) and move home to our place in Fargo. I always dread that move because I can't sleep well for a week after I return to the city. Fargo is a relatively quiet town, but it is infinitely more noisy than The Lakes – especially in September.

Now we reside permanently here. Why didn't we do this years ago?

West Central Minnesota Lake Country, Minnesota, United States
After living in the city my whole life, I recently moved to a beautiful Minnesota lake. This blog is about observations regarding this new natural perspective.
